More of than not, people only think about data enablement as happening when you launch a data-rich content. While it definitely should happen then, for data enablement to be most effective, it needs to start way before, when you're starting to create that content. Here are things to do to help teams feel confident.

Who are you building for

Make sure to ask yourself, are you building for the top 5% who are asking for things & are data savvy? Or are you building for the 95% that may not have that data skillset? Keep in mind the skillset of the audience you are creating the content for. When it comes to GTM teams, like sales and customer success, it's better to assume they are not as data savvy as you.

Research sessions with individual users

Don't develop this kind of content in a vacuum! That's the surest path to creating content that doesn't get used. Instead, have continuous checkins with the people who will be presenting the content, and understand what they are needing and how they are perceiving what you're creating. You can also use call recording software to review calls and really get a sense of how it might be used in the field.

Data integrity

Make sure that internal metrics don't conflict with external-facing metrics. You don't want to put your GTM team in a position where the customer asks why they're seeing something different - it'll hurt the confidence of your GTM team and the company will lose credibility in the customer's eyes.

Rule of 20

Would someone who sees this slide without you presenting understand it in 20 seconds or less? If yes, you are good to go!
